This is an absolute “No Brainer”. I have been the Wright Patterson and I have been to Kennedy and this place is every bit as good maybe better and it is free. They have more planes hanging from the ceiling than you can imagine. They have an Imax and the guided tours explaining the aircraft are very good.

This is also where the Blue Angels http://www.blueangels.navy.mil/show/ are based during the non-winter months. Chances are they will be touring when you are in Gulf Shores but every once in a while you’ll see a couple of F/A-18 Hornet Jets flying down the coast.

The USS Alabama: http://www.ussalabama.com/ The USS Alabama is another good bet. The Alabama is a destroyer from World War II that you can tour. Did you ever see the movie Crimson Tide with Denzel Washington and Gene Hackman? That’s the boat. The park there also has a submarine and aircraft museum. I haven’t done this yet but everyone who has told me it is a good time. The down side is that it is an hour away located of Interstate Route 10 going into

This is a great place to visit - only 30 minutes from the beach.
